Zach Kartchner

Chef Zach was born to a family with rural Arizona roots. His parents joined the Foreign Service, so he and his four siblings spent their youths in sub Saharan Africa. Always an enthusiastic eater, the time spent abroad certainly cultivated his eclectic palate. He landed his first kitchen job at 17, at the esteemed Hotel Colbert in Antananarivo, Madagascar, and since returning stateside has worked in a number of well-regarded and culinary varied restaurants in Flagstaff, Williamsburg, Savannah and Charleston. He was lured to Smithfield by Nick and Derek, who thought his intensely flavored, ingredient-focused, but always approachable brand of cuisine was exactly what Isle of Wight County needed.
